The Fifth Annual Wellston Big Buck Contest was again a huge success, with 105 entrants resulting in hundreds of hunters and visitors coming to town.  Our Buck Pole at Northern Michigan Distributors, along with radio and press coverage allowed thousands more to see what our area has to offer.     The corporate help of Magnum Buck Products, Gander Mountain, Lucky Buck, Little River Casino, and Randall’s Big River Smokehouse, for their large contribution of free merchandise afforded us to give each and every deer hunter a prize just for coring their deer.

No new record this Year!  Our record 35 3/4 point survived the 2003 season, and the world record 8 point scored in Wellston still stands as well.
